About Me

My name is Amanda.  I am a minister in the United Methodist Church.
I'm two years into my professional ministry - and I'm striving to live out that calling. (You can read about my calling here.)  This blog is my perspective on life as a pastor.

In my current position I am an Associate Pastor.  I know this doesn't tell you a lot about me or my job so let me go into more detail.  I preach, teach, serve communion and baptize, provide pastoral care and insights, and "administrate."  I "specialize" in nothing and everything!  I work with two fantastic groups of youth (6th-12th grade), I serve the young adults inside and outside of our church, I am a sound tech, and a computer wiz.  I communicate to the community our activities, and I advocate for the youth and the ministry they provide.  I serve as a role model for all ages, as a listener.

What I ultimately hope to do is inspire and encourage
people to live out their belief of Jesus Christ.

Call me naive and idealistic.  I believe this is my calling.

I'm still learning what it means to do this in the role of a pastor.  I mess up and make a lot of mistakes.  I don't claim to know it all.  But I do try to learn and reflect on my life and experiences - and this blog is where I do it.

I hope that you find something inspiring by reading my blog.
